Post
I haven't written a blog post in what seems like forever- probably because all I've been doing is posting scans of my artwork haha. I sort of feel that I'm making a 'come back' on Youtube since I was absent from it for quite sometime. I missed the community and making videos for people to watch. It seems that people like me talking in my videos which is fine and all it's just more work for me on the video editing side as I add a voice over post- making the video since I tend to get tongue tied very easily or leave long awkward silences and I don't want my videos to be boring! I like them to be straight to the point and I hope you guys like that too~

Tyrant Recovered
My dad woke me up at 6:50am because he found Tyrant- alive. He has squished himself in between the seat/armrest area. My dad thought he was a sock and apparently Tyrant wanted to go back to hide between the cushiony goodness of the couch.
I gave him some mixed greens of veggies so he could get re-hydrated for going without water for a good 6plus hours. Before he disappeared he had eaten half a mini carrot though. He looks fine now after having a sandbath before he was rather ruffled looking. I’m so happy he’s back safely :)

Tyrant Has Gone Missing
Tyrant somehow managed to escape from me and my mother. I brought him downstairs to run about on the couch around 10'clock and he was happily doing so until he ran behind me and POOF he disappeared, literally. At first I thought he had jumped off the armrest and was hiding under the couch but nothing nada zip- he's still missing.
My dad slowly moved the couch and we looked behind the bookcase and under everything in the living room nothing was left un-looked under. I really hope he's alright my dad thinks he's somewhere inside of the couch and perhaps he is or maybe he's run off somewhere else because he can jump over things and squeeze between/around/over/under almost anything. Pterror on the other hand is fine.
So their cage was moved downstairs and the lid is behind kept off in hopes that Tyrant will jump back home. Pterror has been moved into a plastic tub for the time being with all the necessities. I’m in no mood to make a video out of this :( For the last 2hours I've been looking, sitting in the dark trying to listen for TyTy please, please be alright!

Driving Lesson One: 2 hours
So driving isn't THAT bad all things considered. The instructor arrived at my house knocked on the front door as well as rang on the doorbell. I sat in the passenger side for a bit while she went over a couple things then showed me the 3 point turn then she parked on the side of the road and was like 'Let's Switch.' Which left me little to no time to panic so I hopped in the driving side and was shown where some things were- how to work the handbrake, steering, hazard lights just the mere basics.
I tend to over accelerate then sort of panic and sometimes when doing a turn I step on the break instead of the accelerate which is a big 'no' but hey as long s I learn from the mistakes
Next lesson is tentatively for June the 1st

Learning To Drive
I am having my first driving lesson tomorrow, well later today now. I finished up the in class stuff on May Saturday the 14th and I need to complete 15hours of driving lessons (as paid by my parents). It was rather a long ordeal to get hold of the driving instructor partly because I don’t like the telephone... anyways I was supposed to go on Monday the 16th of this month from 7oclock to 9o’clock but the lady (my instructor is a woman) came down with a 24hour sickness and rescheduled at a later date but an earlier time 10’clock to maybe 12’oclock or 1’oclock depending if I’m up for it.
Honestly I'm feeling rather anxious and slightly terrified. I’ve had dreams where I am driving a car from the mailbox to my house (which is really close by) and I manage to bugger that up my foot was literally glued to the pedal. I don’t believe I’m prepared as I should be for the lesson for some strange reason; it’s just that nagging sensation in the back of my head.

Moving
It’s really strange putting all your personal belongings into boxes and plastic bags to move somewhere else. You get a real sense of appreciation and wonder for all the things you have but aren’t all that necessary. You can’t bring everything you own so you need to decide what is the most important and what you can leave behind.
I’ve heard events in life being referred to as a series of books- there are chapters in each book and when one ends another begins; it’s a really great metaphor.
Question: If you could only take one item with you what would it be?

Naming Tyrant and Pterror
Tyrannosaurus and Pterodactyl or more commonly known as Tyrant and Pterror are the two Bushy Tailed Jirds Boys that I am ever so grateful to enter into my life. I’m not sure what their original owner called them or if she had named them something before but they really do fit their names.
I’ve always had a little bit of a fascination with dinosaurs and I’ve watched those BBC specials and such all about them. I’m sure some people will think ‘Pterror’ is me trying to have a cool spelling for Terror however that’s just not the case. Originally Tyrannosaurus’s nickname was going to be Tyranny (but that was too close to Tranny/ Transgender so I scrapped that)
I guess when choosing their names I wanted them to have an uncommon one that I’d never heard anyone else call their pets. I mean my first hamster was named Pumpkin and the three dwarf hamsters I had after that Oreo (my mum’s) No Name (My brothers that I decided to call Mr.Cuddles after the fact) and Mr. Snuffles (My hamster) they were all girls.
Then again naming things unique names is something I’ve always done. I used to have this giant pink spotted snail that I called HubertCumberdale and I named one of our JellyBean Cichlids ‘Mr.Picklehead.’

Subscribers
Youtubers are nothing without their subscribers just like Celebrities aren’t celebrities without their fans. Subscribers are your viewers- they are the ones that at some point in time found a reason and took the time to click that yellow button.
While subscribers are important, putting out good content should be your first propriety. Without good content there is no real reason for people to watch your videos. That is of course unless you do ‘sub4sub’ which I personally find annoying. It is very appealing to do it but in the end those people aren’t going to be watching your videos so what’s the point? Plus it makes your youtube subscription box very messy the people’s videos you actually want to watch- well they’ll be buried under the 500 other subscriptions you have. Also it’s very simple to unsubscribe from people too- a subscriber may not stay subscribed forever.
I am very thankful to all those who have subscribed to me- at this current moment in posting blog time I am at 320 subscribers all of whom I am so grateful for every single individual person. I even remember the first 20 people who first subscribed to me too ;) for the first 100 I tried my hardest to thank every single person but it just got too insane searching for new usernames in my subscriber box- so to those who haven’t received a personal thank you- a big heartfelt THANK YOU SO MUCH goes out to you guys.
Oh and to the creepers who are without an account and watch my videos too <- I was like you guys for the longest time :) haha.

Editing Videos
Editing your videos should be a mandatory- and no that doesn’t mean putting in an intro that is longer than your actual video. Shooting and re-shooting until you get the right angle and shot. Some of my videos have over 30minutes worth of unusable footage because I pause for too long, do the wrong action in a way that just doesn't seem right or don't convey the message I want to properly.
This doesn’t mean your video needs 40 transitions that will make people’s heads spin. Just a clean cut, clear image, steadily recorded video with proper lightings no verbal slips (saying like, so, um 20 times)
Windows Live Movie Maker comes on almost every PC or Laptop now a days, it’s the most basic editor to use and does the job. However if you want a better editor with more abilities Final Cut Pro from apple is a great investment.

Recording Videos
It has gotten much easier to record videos, almost everyone has a cellphone that has a camera or a laptop with a built in webcam. However usually those are the worst quality (depending on the brand and such).
Though cellphones are easily accessible the quality is usually very grainy and the sound quality is bad- of course unless you have an Iphone or something similar. However on average the video sucks! It looks like a blurry pixelated party.
Webams are a step above a cellphone. Using the quick capture on youtube isn’t recommended though, it usually doesn’t sync up the sounds and picture very well. Also there is limited movement you can record with a webcam, it either has to be attached to your computer because it is inside of your computer or through a wire that only can reach so far. Files are saved right onto your computer so that is rather handy.
Flip Cams are rather useful though it doesn’t macro (focus up on close things) they are relatively cheap and very simple to use. Press the record button and you’re good to go- then to transfer the files you simply plug the USB into your computer and that’s how it is charged too! Which is ever so convenient however the viewfinder is on the back- so if you’re recording yourself you don’t know if you’re in the shot or not.
Photo Cameras usually requires double A batteries, the quality is usually better though the mic placement isn’t always the best so the sound it muddled up if you have your finger/thumb placed over it. There are more settings you can fiddle around with. They also need memory cards to store the footage on, it’s a bit more of a hassle to transfer the files in my opinion but that might just be because I’m lazy.
Video Cameras require loads of other bits and pieces. Memory, charger, tape (in some cases), cords they are also rather expensive if you get a good one. It does pay off with the amazing video quality and tonnes of functions.
Personally I use a flip cam (Creative Vado) but I might be getting another piece of technology to record with, not sure yet.

Usernames
On Youtube your username is very essential to you. It may just be a bunch of words jumbled together with numbers (like the year you were born...) or it just might be a complete mess of letters. Whatever the case may be it will slowly become part of your identity. It surprises me how people can stand typing their usernames into the login bar when it’s just a clutter of seemingly random letters smashed together with numbers.
When picking out a username now a days it is hard finding something that someone hasn’t already taken. That’s when the numbers and the X’s and those other tricks come into play like using the word ‘original’ to differentiate yourself from the other. But really what good does that do-? You’re still going to get confused with the other thousands of people who have almost identical looking words/phrases. People only really ‘read’ the fsirt and lsat letters usually and the middle can be jbleumd up and the brain is still able to recognize it.
Also it’s wise not to dedicate your channel completely to just one thing otherwise you’ve boxed yourself in and won’t be able to broaden your videos without others questioning why you aren’t doing what you username implies.
It’s rather difficult to be original but originality is where it is at. Don’t go with the masses, like a lemming!
Question: Why did you choose your username?
