Editing your videos should be a mandatory- and no that doesn’t mean putting in an intro that is longer than your actual video. Shooting and re-shooting until you get the right angle and shot. Some of my videos have over 30minutes worth of unusable footage because I pause for too long, do the wrong action in a way that just doesn't seem right or don't convey the message I want to properly.
This doesn’t mean your video needs 40 transitions that will make people’s heads spin. Just a clean cut, clear image, steadily recorded video with proper lightings no verbal slips (saying like, so, um 20 times)
Windows Live Movie Maker comes on almost every PC or Laptop now a days, it’s the most basic editor to use and does the job. However if you want a better editor with more abilities Final Cut Pro from apple is a great investment.
