On Youtube your username is very essential to you. It may just be a bunch of words jumbled together with numbers (like the year you were born...) or it just might be a complete mess of letters. Whatever the case may be it will slowly become part of your identity. It surprises me how people can stand typing their usernames into the login bar when it’s just a clutter of seemingly random letters smashed together with numbers.
When picking out a username now a days it is hard finding something that someone hasn’t already taken. That’s when the numbers and the X’s and those other tricks come into play like using the word ‘original’ to differentiate yourself from the other. But really what good does that do-? You’re still going to get confused with the other thousands of people who have almost identical looking words/phrases. People only really ‘read’ the fsirt and lsat letters usually and the middle can be jbleumd up and the brain is still able to recognize it.
Also it’s wise not to dedicate your channel completely to just one thing otherwise you’ve boxed yourself in and won’t be able to broaden your videos without others questioning why you aren’t doing what you username implies.
It’s rather difficult to be original but originality is where it is at. Don’t go with the masses, like a lemming!
Question: Why did you choose your username?
That is so true, good user names are always taken. I choose my user name, because i love the galaxy. I tried many constellations, but all of them were taken so i came up with the user name i have now on Youtube. I am the owner of the hamster Simba on Youtube. \(^o^)/
